Normal stressed SAHM mother of a high-needs baby? Or mental health issues?
This is likely going to get me lots of negative answers. But I need to know something “real” from mothers who have difficult babies.
I have an almost 7-month-old son. He is hard. He doesn’t sleep well, doesn’t nap well, doesn’t like to be away from me, and doesn’t really entertain himself for any amount of time. Basically, he wants to be held all the time and fusses when I am not right there talking and cuddling him (like even when I put him down for two minutes). I love him, no doubt. I can’t imagine him not being here. And wouldn’t change things.
BUT, I don’t really like him these days. I am tired, stressed, and beyond my limit of tolerance by 7am everyday. I really want to play with him and laugh with him, but I can’t. He makes me angry. And I am sad that I want to wish away his infancy so I can get some sleep and feel like a normal person again. I wish I woke up refreshed and ready to take on the day. But I have been up six times between 8pm and 6am because he wakes up crying and will scream bloody murder til I get him (I gave up letting him cry because that just makes the calming down process longer). So, yeah, I am having a hard time being a “good mom” lately. I take care of his needs (food, changing, bathing, routines for bedtime and naptime, going outside, jumperoo/exersaucer) and talk to him and try to get him to play on the floor, but my heart is not in it.
I need to know if other mothers of hard babies have had these feelings. The reason I need to know is because I have mental health issues (OCD and depression that flares up at times) that I am medicated for. I need to know if these exhaustion-induced feelings are normal, or if my meds are lacking in some way. I know no one can actually tell me one way or the other, but it is the only way I know to figure out how to proceed. I don’t want to medicate myself more if these are normal feelings from a mother of a high-needs child. But I don’t want to not ask for my meds to be bumped up if these are excessive thoughts. Is anyone understanding what I am saying?
For the record, I am in therapy weekly (and have been for eight years solid), I have a doctor caring for my medication, I have a midwife who makes sure what I take is not affecting my son (since he is breastfeeding), and I have been dealing with these issues for ten years, so I am not offended by people who don’t understand mental health. I am just asking because I need to figure out where to go from here. Thanks in advance. And please don’t answer if you want to be nasty.

late period 4 days, confirmed pregnancy – health issues. options?
Hello – morality issues aside, this is a health question: my sister and her husband have been trying to have a baby for some time now. they got pregnant in December and unfortunately miscarried (blighted ovum) – The doctor specifically told them she needed to undergo treatment before getting pregnant again. specifically they analyzed her blood and it came out anemic. she’s been following a strict food regime with lots of protein, and a balanced diet and is doing better. – the doctor told her they should not get pregnant for at least 3 months. – she just called me and said she’s worried for the baby she doesn’t want to live through that again. she’s 4 days late. – In Mexico it is legal (although morally objectionable) to have an abortion. Question here is, for a 3 week old conception, would it be necessary? or what steps would she take to avoid another D&C (which she doesn’t want to do)?
The doctor said due to her weak state of health, the risk for teratogenesis is high.

What happens to a baby if the mother has low iron during pregnancy?
Can a baby have breathing problems (even during the first year), stress during labor and swallow maconium, or have other health issues during the first year of life if the mother has had low iron throughout the pregnancy?
What items to keep from first baby to pass on to second?
I was blessed with my first child, a beautiful baby girl a little over 5 months ago. If the good lord is willing and I am able, we would like to have a few more hubby says 3 I say 4. I have some health issues so it may only be one more. I was just wondering, what baby items to you keep to use with another baby, and what items do you normally give on to someone else?
